A Hungarian-Austrian comedy and one of the last emigrant films made in Austria before the industry submitted to pressure from Nazi Germany and ceased to employ Jewish filmmakers.

In 1900, the pianist Radofsky seduces singer Anni in Vienna. Twenty years later, he runs into her again … with her daughter.

Joseph Reiner, a talented music student, tries to get a contract from a film and music producer, aided by Annerl, the girl he loves, and his music school fellows. When famous screen tenor Lincoln gets suddenly indisposed he will have a chance, yet not exactly the one he expected.

To escape dreary country life, a count travels to Italy with a friend every year. Instead of the alleged purchase of horses, the reason he gives to his mother as to why he needs to travel to Italy, he spends his time chasing after the ladies.

A nostalgic story about life in and around a classic Vienna coffee house. The film is set in Imperial Vienna at the beginning of the twentieth century.
