An alien policeman comes to Earth to hunt down a renegade of his own race.

German terrorists kidnap the crew of an aeroplane as they leave the airport. The terrorists demand the release of two of their colleagues, who are to be extradited to the USA. The father of one of the stewardesses decides he can no longer wait for diplomacy, and so flies out to Germany. There, frustration leads him to hire a former SAS counter-terrorism expert. Together they hunt down the terrorists.

The Messenger of Death has an interesting way of getting victims. His assistant, Miss Smith, would write a letter where recipients would be told to pass it along. The person that failed in doing so would meet misfortune (mostly death). The Messenger of Death and Miss Smith would watch the person that broke the chain on a television monitor. After the victim's demise, The Messenger of Death would go back to his desk, and say to his assistant, "Take a letter, Miss Smith".

After having a near death experience Joanna finds her life in constant danger. She begins to believe that certain forces are trying to bring her back into the world of the dead. It just so happens that Peter is a strong believer in the supernatural and even teaches a course on it at a local college. Together they must confront the "walkers" so that Joanna can live to see another day.

The film follows a laid-back private investigator Kyd Thomas who gets thrust into Hollywood's world of crime after he meets Laura Cassidy. Laura is a cocaine addict who Kyd saves from being beaten and raped.
