Roger has been in jail for small-time hustling. In his cell he decides to do something "serious": he wants to become a marriage swindler. The pickpocket Hazel, who is also in jail, comes up with the same idea. And both inmates are released at the same time! Roger places a marriage ad and Hazel promptly answers. Roger's friend Max is so impressed by Roger's idea that he tries it too - Hazel's friend Edith falls for him, or is he actually walking into her trap? A game of confusion of the immoral kind begins, and when pimp Terry Trouble suspects the gangsters of having counterfeit money, the chaos is complete.
