Bara några timmar före D-dagen landar ett team amerikanska fallskärmsjägare i det naziockuperade Frankrike för att utföra ett uppdrag som är avgörande för att invasionen ska lyckas. På väg till den befästa kyrka där de ska förstöra en radiosändare slår de desperata soldaterna sig samman med en ung fransk byinvånare för att ta sig igenom murarna och spränga tornet. Men i ett hemligt nazistlaboratorium under kyrkan står den lilla gruppen soldater plötsligt öga mot öga med en fiende olik något världen förut skådat.

Ett fascinerande porträtt av ett av 1900-talets främsta militära genier, den enda allierade generalen som Nazityskarna verkligen var rädda för. Patton var karismatisk och extravagant; han designade sina egna uniformer och var fast övertygad om att han varit krigare i sina tidigare liv. Han utmanövrerade Rommel i Afrika och efter Dagen D ledde han sina trupper i en triumfartad marsch tvärs genom Europa. 1970 vann denna film hela 8 Oscar (inkl. Bästa Film och Manlig huvudroll - George C. Scott).

Storbritannien 1944, under andra världskriget. Henry Faber the Needle, en hänsynslös tysk spion som innehar viktig information om D-Day, är obevekligt förföljd av flera MI5-agenter och tar sin tillflykt till Storm Island, en ogästvänlig, glest bebodd ö utanför norra Skottlands kust.

"Det mest ärorika med krig", sade Samuel Fuller, "är att överleva". Fuller var en dekorerad kombattant i det berömda amerikanska infanteriet under andra världskriget, och han överlevde. Filmversionen av hans krigsupplevelser, utgiven år 1980, överlevde inte... förrän nu. Med hjälp av 70 000 fot av arkiverat material och Fullers filmmanus så har kritikern/filmskaparen Richard Schickel arbetat fram en rekonstruktion som bidrar med 47 minuter nytt material som förvandlar en stympad, men beundrad, krigsfilm till ett storslaget mästerverk. Lee Marvin, en mångfacetterat framträdande som har visat sig vara ett av hans bästa, ses i rollen som sergeanten med befäl över skäggfjuniga gevärsskyttar som strider hela vägen från Nordafrika till Normandie och över hela Europa. Filmen bygger på gruppens dagbok om kriget - hur de kämpar, svettas, blöder och kanske överlever.

Louise har tränats i lönnmord, sprängämnen och spionage av den brittiska underrättelse- tjänsten för ett enda kritiskt uppdrag. I skydd av mörkret landar hon med fallskärm i det ockuperade Frankrike. Hennes order är att infiltrera Gestapo och likvidera den man som står i vägen för Andra Världskrigets mest hemliga, mest avgörande operation: Dagen D. Hennes existens var länge en väl bevarad hemlighet, men i den påkostade och actionladdade spionthrillern Hemlig Agent berättas för första gången sanningen om kvinnan som riskerade sitt liv som spion i fiendeland. Utan henne hade landstigningen i Normandie aldrig kunnat genomföras.

I juni 1944 står de allierade redo att återta de naziockuperade delarna av Europa. Men en man står i deras väg – Winston Churchill.

Den unge Tom blir inkallad och tränas för att vara med om operation "Overlord", invasionen i Normandie. Han drömmer om ljuva kärleksstunder, men inser att han knappast kommer att överleva kriget.

På väg till Normandie minns en amerikan och en brittisk officer i flashback om sina romanser med samma kvinna.

The hard lessons learned at Anzio, Dieppe and Salerno were about to be brought into focus with the greatest invasion the world had ever seen. But how had the Allies come to this point? D-Day, June 6th, 1944.
