The ponytail is a dumpster version of the Oedipus myth. Diana, a prostitute from Vienna, returns to the city. She has a trace, memory gaps, and milk started flowing from her breasts. Twenty-year-old orphan-outcast May suspects that she may be its author. Diana's return coincides with one made in the neighboring forest. May is arrested for being violent on police officer Max's wife.

Arthur has a girlfriend, they train together in a boxing club, they are 18 years old and go to the same high school. One evening, Ewa confides in him about an affair she once had with an older man. This news has a strong influence on Arthur. During the next training session, he unloads his aggression on her, which starts a game of mutual provocation between them.

The footloose ennui of Poland’s postwar generation is captured to perfection in this jazzy chronicle of a draft-dodger’s final day of freedom. A slacker before there was a word for it, Andrzej (played by Skolimowski himself) drifts through a series of open-ended encounters with women following a wake-up argument with his pouting wife, and a long-delayed military physical (the film’s title derives from one of the questions). The animated short is a humorous fantasy, for which the starting point is a routine visit by a certain patient to the dentist.
