One day, going to the temple, she asked the Lord to give her a baby and promised him that when she was born, she would give him to live in the temple, serving the Lord throughout her life. The boy was Samuel. For always being obedient, Samuel was chosen by God as priest, judge and prophet of the people of Israel.
