Damodar regains consciousness and starts banging on the chest, so Hugh Rose renders him unconscious again. When they are locking Damodar in the chest, his ring falls on the ground. A worried Laxmibai goes searching for Damodar and comes across his ring. She then realises that he has been kidnapped. Meanwhile, Tatya Tope orders Hugh Rose who is in disguise to open the chest but finds nothing. Just then, they hear a child crying and run towards the cart. However, it turns out to be another child. Hugh Rose takes this chance and escapes from Jhansi with the chest. On the other hand, Rao Dulajo asks Hamilton to recognise him.
